Breastfeeding and Postpartum Services
Mama Mingle: Donna Adelmund will be available on select weekends for breastfeeding support and counseling. Donna can provide expecting parents with guidance or information prior to birth and can assist mothers with their breastfeeding questions and concerns.
Mother’s Circle: Guiding Star Marshalltown offers a time for mothers and babies to gather for community and support. A pediatric nurse practitioner, Toni Whannel, is available to answer questions and provide child well-checks and weigh-ins. Mother’s Circle meets weekly on Tuesdays from 10:30am – 12pm.
Postpartum Depression: Guiding Star Marshalltown provides resources for women looking for support during their postpartum period. We can provide screening and referrals for emotional health counseling for postpartum depression, infant loss or birth trauma.
Angela will assess your baby’s oral anatomy, your breast anatomy, observe your baby’s latch, full feeding, and assist with latch, holds, and a plan for going forward. Office visits are offered in Des Moines and Iowa Falls. Learn more about a consultation with Angela.

*ONLINE* Breastfeeding Preparation Video Class
Angela offers an online “Breastfeeding Preparation Class” video sharing everything expecting moms need to know to prepare for breastfeeding their baby. This hour-and-twenty-minute video course is just $15 and is packed with valuable information to get you started on the right foot.
